Teri Ann
Taylor
May 11, 1961 — Apr 14, 2025
Teri Ann Taylor , 63, of Lawnside, New Jersey, passed away peacefully
on April 14 at MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper, surrounded by
love.
Born in Yeadon, Pennsylvania, on May 11, 1961, Teri was a lifelong
learner and passionate seeker of knowledge. She earned a B.A. in
Journalism from Temple University and later received her M.S. in
Information Science from Drexel University. Teri dedicated more than 25
years to her profession as a librarian, beginning her career as a
Reference Librarian at Temple University. She later served as Associate
Director of the New Jersey State Library Information Center, where she
specialized in U.S. government documents and the Foundation
Collection.
As a research librarian, Teri never hesitated to share her love of
knowledge, with many friends and family members utilizing her
expertise to help them find needed research or information on unfamiliar
topics. To Teri, information was not just a career—it was a calling. She
was a generous and resourceful guide, often sharing articles, research
tips, or a perfectly-timed recommendation with friends and family. Many
fondly remember receiving an email that began, "I thought of you when I
saw this..." - a small reminder of how deeply she cared and how closely
she listened.
Teri found joy in travel, discovering new restaurants, and recreating
recipes from her favorite chef, Ina Garten. She had a radiant smile, a
uniquely gentle spirit, and a fierce love for her family and friends. Her
passions ran deep—from her devotion to the Philadelphia Eagles to her
lifelong love for the music of Prince.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Roosevelt and Gloria
Taylor, and her brother, Glynn Taylor. She is survived by her brother,
Roosevelt Taylor Jr., her sister-in-law, Rebecca Taylor, and a loving
extended family of cousins and dear friends.
Teri will be remembered for her kindness, wit, generosity, and unwavering
support. Her absence leaves a void in the lives of all who knew her—but
her spirit and light will continue to shine in the hearts of those she
touched.
A celebration of life service will take place at African Episcopal Church of
