Phyllis O. Kaufhold, 82 of River Edge, NJ died on Easter Sunday. Phyllis was born in Teaneck, NJ.
to the late Ina and Philip Obach, former Police Chief of Ridgefield Park, NJ.
She worked in advertising and at Exxon Corporation, New York City, and in her later life was an Assistant Secretary at Hudson
City Savings Bank, Paramus, NJ. She was an active member of the New Jersey Ski Club and an
avid bowler. She was active at St. Peters School PTA, River Edge, and River Edge Boy Scout Troop
184. She enjoyed camping on Lake George with her family. She was predeceased by
her husband of 51 years, Joachim "Jack" Kaufhold, and her brother, Colonel U.S. Army (Retired), Ronald M.
Obach. She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Michael and Mary Kaufhold and grandchildren,
Caroline and Christian of Lumberton, NJ, and her son and daughter in law, Stephen and Karen Kaufhold of Lebanon, NJ.
She is also survived by her sister in law, Ellen Obach of Ocean, NJ, and several nieces and nephews.
Private Services were held. Donations to the ASPCA in her name are appreciated.
