Obituary

Patricia Ann "Pat" Murray died peacefully on January 10, 2023, at her home in Vermont, with her wife and family by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Pat was born on December 30, 1958, in Philadelphia PA, to Charles J. Murray Jr. and Mary Murray. Pat grew up in South Jersey and loved the New Jersey shore. Pat started working in the Insurance industry as a co-op in high school which led to a 40-year career. She amassed the highest credentials in the industry, including Certified Property and Casualty Underwriter and was recognized as a leader in her industry. She shared her talents and loved teaching. Pat founded and ran the "Academy of Insurance" school as her own business for many years.

Pat was a devoted daughter, sister, partner, daughter-in-law, aunt and friend to many. She was kind, gentle, easygoing, and always had a positive outlook on life.

Pat met Jennifer and together they built a life together in Vermont. Pat was happy in Vermont but visited often and stayed close to her NJ family and friends. Pat and Jenn spent their free time volunteering, attending craft shows, and visiting virtually every pumpkin patch in Vermont. Pat's career flourished in Vermont first leading a training department at Vermont Mutual then at the Department of Insurance for The State of Vermont working for the state Insurance Commissioner.

Pat is survived by her wife Jennifer Dilworth, mother-in-law and father-in-law Jan and Bill Dilworth, brother-in-law and sister-in-Law Steve and Faith Dilworth, brother Charlie (Eva), sister Cathy (Pete), lifetime friend Maggie Powers, nieces and nephews, a great-niece, and many friends and colleagues.  She was predeceased by sister Deb (Tamara).

Pat will be especially remembered for her kindness, generosity, and devotion to her family and friends.
