Obituary

Nancy Hagenbuch Worden, age 83 of Haddon Heights, NJ and formally Kingston PA passed away peacefully on Monday, November 17, 2025. Nancy was born on Monday, June 8, 1942 to the late Wilmer Hagenbuch and Augusta Mitcheltree.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Pamela Zombeck, Salem, MA, her son, George Worden, and two granddaughters, Alexis & Kayla in Louisville, KY,  her stepmother, Rebecca Hagenbuch Drick, a brother, Lynn Hagenbuch of Cocoa Beach, FL and sister, Alice (John) Helder of Mount Joy, PA. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Lawrence and Dan Hagenbuch.

Nancy graduated from Mountoursville High School as part of the class of 1960. She was a lifelong member of United Methodist Church - The Church of Christ Uniting in Kingston, PA as a choir member, and at Fellowship United Methodist Church in Haddon Heights where she was part of the Bell Choir. She worked as a neurosurgical medical transcriptionist for close to twenty years and then more enjoyable work at Gertrude Hawk Candy stores.

Nancy's life was largely defined as a Mother, Grandmother "Nonnie", and active volunteer - rocking babies at the Nic Unit at Cooper Hospital and at St Vincent de Paul St Simon Parish Thrift Store in Berlin, NJ. She was equally committed as an environmental steward as evidenced by her choice of a green burial.

Nancy actively supported local theater, arts, libraries, PBS and NPR. She loved British television and London, the ocean, trees and a rainy afternoon, and was a lifelong lover of the Mummers Parade. She was curious, always interested in others and afforded a warm welcome heart to everyone she met. She was unabashedly childlike and unafraid to be silly and enjoyed sending cards - a lot of cards - with amazingly unique penmanship. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to be in her life.

Nancy entrusted her care to Leonard Terranova and was peacefully laid to rest at Colestown Cemetery with an intimate graveside service.

Any thoughts and more importantly stories of her life are greatly appreciated. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to any of her passion projects - your local PBS, Cooper Hospital NIC unit, the Mummers Cancer charity or your local homeless shelter/food bank.
