Obituary

On Monday, August 11, 2025 our dear friend Linda DiPatre fell asleep in death.

Linda was born to James and Josephine Badame on February 6, 1950 in Camden, NJ.  A happy-go-lucky child, Linda grew up alongside 9 siblings, attending school in Camden, until her graduation from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1968.  Linda is remembered by her brothers and sisters as being fun to be with, and a "good sister" who enjoyed playing the clarinet.

Her father was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and took his children along to attend meetings at the Kingdom Hall, so Linda learned the truth about her Creator, Jehovah from early youth. The truth reached Linda's heart, and she was moved to dedicate her life and was baptized on March 9th, 1967. With faithful friends like Connie Turpen, Linda continued her spiritual education to build her faith by attending meetings in the Camden Central congregation, eventually meeting a faithful brother, Frank DiPatre. Romance bloomed and she and Frank were married in a modest wedding in the basement of a friend's Pennsauken home on 11/20/1970. Thereafter, she and Frank served together in the congregation in their Philadelphia neighborhood for many years. Linda had worked in a law office, applying her keen mind on behalf of the associates in the practice almost her entire career, making many friends along the way.

After losing Frank in death in 1998, Linda continued to serve Jehovah and built up her spirituality with regular study and strong association. Even after losing her eyesight in the early 2020s, Linda kept a good routine of taking in spiritual food through audio programs and listening to talks and events on JW Broadcast. She was a warm addition to the Moorestown congregation, and was grateful for the assistance and friendship of many who helped support her determination to attend in person as often as possible. She will be remembered for her love of good food and drink, her stories, and her generous acts.

Linda met a breast cancer diagnosis in 2024 with stoicism and courage, and continued to confront health issues with a calm, pragmatic demeanor. Diligent and loyal, Linda ensured not only practical matters were cared for in advance, but that her integrity would remain unbroken even until death. Those around her in her final weeks can attest that her heartfelt comments about the future resurrection and paradise ensure she is now sleeping, safe in the memory of her loving God, Jehovah.

Dear sister of Paul, Joanne, Lucille, Richard and the late Josephine "Dolly," Louis, Cynthia, Sandra and Barbara.

Linda's Memorial Service will be Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 12:30 PM, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 339 Bridgeboro Rd., Moorestown, NJ 08057.
