Joseph Francis Letizia, formerly of Syracuse, died peacefully in the loving presence of his family on July 4, at Penn Medicine, Philadelphia, PA from complications due to lung cancer. Joseph (Joe) was the son of Shirley Lockwood of Philadelphia and the late Dr. Lee Letizia of Syracuse and Cazenovia, New York.

Joe is also survived by his sister, Anne Letizia (John Carne); brother, Luke Letizia; and nieces, Stella, Annie, and Leah Carne.

Joe was a 1980 graduate of Cazenovia High School. He was known for his love of music and his natural, outgoing, and endearing personality. Joe was an ardent Syracuse University sports fan and adopted the Flyers as his favorite team upon moving to Philadelphia. His presence is greatly missed by those who were touched by him.

A celebration of Joseph's life will be held on Saturday, September 12, at 2:00pm at St. Lucy's Church, 432 Gifford Street, Syracuse, New York 13204.
