Inell Dennis
Harvey
Oct 30, 1934 — Dec 20, 2025
Inell (Dennis) Harvey was born the second child of three on October 30, 1934, in Hawkinsville, Pulaski County Georgia to the late Douglas Dennis and Lucille (Smiley) Dennis.
Inell or "Nell" (as she was fondly called) would often recollect about being born in the deep south as the country was emerging from an economic depression and how it taught her valuable life lessons on being resourceful and appreciative.
When she was ten years old, the family moved to the Crestmont area of Willow Grove, Pa. In Crestmont, Inell was in close proximity with many of her Dennis family relatives, as several of her father's numerous brothers and sisters had also relocated to the area. Not long thereafter, her parents donated the prime land on which this church currently stands and the Dennis men, all skilled craftsmen were instrumental in erecting the church structure. It was here that Inell embraced Christ as her Lord and Savior.
Inell graduated from Abington High School where she was a member of the softball team. She would marry her high school classmate Robert Harvey Sr. and from this union five children were born: Cynthia, Jacqueline, Robert Jr., Laurence, and Courtney (deceased after 3 months)
Later, Inell moved to Philadelphia and began working at the 30th Street Post Office until her retirement. She also assumed the difficult challenges of raising her four children as a single mother.
After her parents passed, Inell became the Matriarch of the family. She was a strong, dynamic presence who instilled the family values of staying in contact and supporting one another. Inell was never passive and always communicated and dealt with issues directly and with purpose. Although her tough love could be stern, it was always tempered with encouragement, love, support, and a sense of humor to take away the sting. She just wanted the best for the family and for everyone to fulfill their potential.
After retirement, Inell would relax by doing her word search puzzles and most of all doting on her thirteen great grandchildren, who were fortunate to escape Big Mom Mom's discipline.
Even as her health declined, she stayed spiritually vigilant, reading her Bible and Daily Word magazine every day.
On December 20, 2025, Inell was peacefully called to her eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her daughter Cynthia Reid, son Courtney Harvey, brother John Dennis, and long-time companion David Floyd.
She leaves to cherish her memory: daughter Jacqueline Reeder (James), son Robert Harvey Jr. (Carol), son Laurence Harvey (Lisa), brother Gene A. Dennis, stepsister Sylvia Wilson, son in-law Richard Reid, six grandchildren; Brian Reid, Aaron Reid, Dionne McCallum, Eric Reeder, Kendra Harvey, Chris Reeder, two step-grandchildren; Harold
Williams, Leslie Williams, thirteen great grandchildren, a sister-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Lovingly submitted,
The Family
