Faith M.
Grant
May 2, 1957 — Jan 19, 2024
Faith Grant, long time resident of Somerdale, NJ and previously of Haddon Heights, leaves behind her brother, Robert R Grant III (Rosanne), nephews Robert J Grant (Courtney), Brian J Wilson (Rebecca), and niece Emily Van Elsland (Corry), four great nieces, five great nephews, numerous cousins, her beloved cats Tom and Tigger, and several very dear friends.
Faith was a teacher of mathematics for over 40 years, with the majority of those being at Camden High School. Following her retirement from Camden High, she had a ten year tenure at the Gateway to College program at Camden County College where she not only taught, but also advised students who wanted to return to school to earn their high school diplomas and move on to a college program. As a truly dedicated educator, she touched the lives of many students and worked tirelessly on finding creative ways to help them learn and be successful. Her love of teaching was surpassed only by the joy of hearing how well her students were doing years later in their current lives. Since this past September she worked as a specialized math teacher at St. Teresa Regional School in Runnemede where she loved the staff and students.
Dance was part of her life from age five until the end. She studied ballet in her childhood and then progressed to teaching at the Village Dance Studio where she helped run it until it closed. In recent years she enjoyed salsa classes. Her love of dance brought her numerous good friends and much enjoyment. She also loved baking, gardening, learning foreign languages – especially French and Italian – crocheting and reading.
Faith was loved by many friends and family members. She was compassionate, sweet, and kind, always looking to find ways to care and be helpful to others. She was very attached to her parents, Dorothy and Robert R Grant Jr. and has missed them dearly since their passing in 2017. It is comforting to think about her being with them once again.
Her Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to LUCY – Lift Up Camden Youth www.lucyoutreach.org , or to Avalon Free Public Library www.avalonfreelibrary.org
