Eugene R. Principato, M.D., of Cherry Hill, NJ, passed away Feb. 19, 2014, at the age of 92. Beloved husband of Letitia "Tish" (nee Orlando) and devoted father of Letitia "Joy" Allman (Martin), Eugene (Vivian), Josephine Ceccoli, Francesca "Cecca" McClay (John), and Elise Principato. Dear brother of Luigi, Saverio and Rosetta. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Dr. Principato was active as a surgeon in the South Jersey community for over 65 years. He was a graduate of Georgetown University and Georgetown University Medical School. He completed his residency at Cooper University Hospital. Dr. Principato was a veteran of WWII serving as a medical doctor. He was in practice with Drs. Liepa and Musulin and was a member of Tavistock Country Club and an avid golfer. Dr. Principato touched the lives of innumerable generations of South Jersey residents, especially those of Italian descent who were raised in Camden. He was known for his care and dedicated concern for his patients, his bedside manner, and his diagnostic and surgical skills.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation, Monday 9 to 10 AM at Old St. Joseph's Church, 321 Willings Alley, Phila., PA, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 AM. Interment Harleigh Cemetery.
