Anthony J.
Magliocco
Jun 13, 1929 — Mar 6, 2022
On March 6, Anthony Magliocco passed away into God's graces. A loving and caring husband of the late Eugenia, father, grandfather and great grandfather, he was 92 years young. Anthony was a native of South Philadelphia and graduated from Upper Darby High School. He was a proud member of the US Army ready reserve and served in Germany. Anthony was a skilled sheet metal worker, who served as a lead mechanic at Ralph Sica and Sons. While working alongside his brothers-in-law, the company became one of the leading restaurant equipment design and build firms in Philadelphia. Anthony's proud moments included so many local and New York projects. Among the long list are Linton's, Horn and Hardart, Hanscom Bakeries, Mrs. Smith's Pies, The Bellevue Stratford and Warwick Hotels, Jim's Steaks, Bookbinders, the Slim Jim Factory, Oscar Mayer, and of course the local South Philadelphia favorite, Palumbo's and the CR Club. For the last 10 years of his career, Anthony proudly worked at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard. He loved spending summers at the Jersey shore. Anthony was a gifted storyteller, who entertained his family and friends with his wide repertoire of jokes and stories. He always had a kind word for everyone and enjoyed a good cigar, fine food and drink, in the company of friends and family.
Anthony is predeceased by his wife Eugenia. He is survived by many loving family and friends, including his sons, Anthony (Mary Ann), Mark (Paulette); his four grandchildren, Marla (Bruce), Gina (Anthony), Genna, and Liana; and, his great grandchildren, Corrine, Maya and Penelope.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation, Thursday March 24, 2022, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM at St. John Fisher Church, 4225 Chichester Avenue, Boothwyn, PA 19061. Interment is private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to a charity of the donor's choice.
