Obituary

Anthony "Tony" Fraietta of Brantingham, New York (formerly of Almonesson New Jersey) passed away on January 11, 2021. He was 69 years of age. He is survived by his three children; Maria, Anthony Jr., and Michael (Melissa), and his sister Lea Tripoli (Keith), three grandchildren: Charlotte, Theodore, and Hugo, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Tony is predeceased by his mother Margaret Patrone Primoli, his father Anthony Fraietta, his sister Maria Floyd and brother Frank Fraietta.

Anthony was born in South Philadelphia and raised in Almonesson, New Jersey. He was a 1969 graduate of Deptford High School and attended Widener University as a business major. His Deptford buddies might remember the story of Ant being carried off the basketball court after the game-winning free throw, or him cruising around town in his coveted Buick Riviera.

A true entrepreneur, Anthony was the founder and owner of Triangle Tri-Axle Co. in addition to owning and managing his family's business, The Triangle Tavern in south Philadelphia. If you knew the Triangle, you knew Tony-he was pretty much raised there.  While Dusty Gale was singing "Pennies from Heaven" in the background, Tony could be found chatting up patrons and neighbors at the bar as they enjoyed their linguine and mussels.

He crossed the Walt Whitman going back and forth from Philly to Deptford more times than anyone could count. Tony's superpower was driving long distances--he could drive for days.  The kids remember lots of road trips:  to the Pine Barrens where he'd scare them with stories of the Jersey Devil, to Potter County PA, where they'd snowmobile under the stars, or on road trips, driving across the country in the back of a Ford Bronco, bumping along across the interstates of the USA.

Tony moved to Brantingham New York in 2003, where he made many close friends and enjoyed retirement. He loved snowmobiling, golfing, fishing on the lake and hanging with his friends in town. Over the years, he became an integral part of the Brantingham community.  Whether he was pulling your car out of a snowy ditch, plowing your driveway, or buying you a drink at the Pine Tree, if you live in Brantingham, you probably knew and loved Tony.

His engaging personality will never be forgotten by his many friends, family and people who knew him.
